MP40 rattling

so i just started up my mp40, and its rattling bad on the glass, i looked it up and supposedly its the wet side shaft and its wiggling? or does my glass have to be very clean that its mounted on? i saw a nice thread on it and how to fix it, i just need a 15 dollar part, just not sure if thats my issue or not, any thoughs?

Make sure it's aligned PERFECTLY, or you'll ruin the pump. Hopefully that fixes it.

what you mean? i have it directly centered, and it still vibrates....

Put your hand on the wet side and move it around to the Sweet Spot. Do it soon or unplug so you don't kill the unit.

Take the wet side out and see if there is any play in the shaft. It should rotate, but not shift side to side.

My mp40s buzz a bit at first and then they settle down. It normally goes away within a couple hours to a couple days. If it's more of a buzzing than an off-center-vibration, I wouldn't worry too much. If it's really noisy, move the wet side around a bit and make sure you have the spacer on the correct notch for your glass thickness. They are extremely easy to take apart as well. It could be that you have a loose nut.

yea its a loud vibration, i moved it around to find a sweet spot, and it made it go down, but not totally. it still was making a vibration/noise. the propeller, can wiggle side to side. i think i need that new part

I'm not sure which part you are talking about. Did you buy it new? Ecotech has great customer service, even if it was purchased used.

yea i know it needs a new propeller shaft and magnet, so i ordered the parts.....40$ and it has some duplicate parts. i can move the propeller back on forth. it just needs replacing.
