i just purchased on for a 8 x2 x2 ....my question...will i be abe to get a wave out of one....or will i have to get another...

For an 8' long tank two pumps would be the absolutely minimum, you may require three or more for a standing wave. We've found putting the pumps on the same side of the tank and running them in sync mode is the best way to get a wave.
