MP60 and Micro Bubbles

I have an MP60 that starts to emit bubbles about once per day. If I turn the MP60 off the bubbles discharge from the wetside and it runs clear again for another 24 hours or so before it starts to emit bubbles again.

I have the MP60 tuned so that it does not pull in any vortexes so its a mystery to me how the unit is generating it's own bubbles.

I've combed the manual and can't find any documentation about this issue.

Any help would be appreciated.

urbaneks,

If your MP60wES is pushing micro bubbles into your aquarium, this has to be a result of air being pulled into the wetside. I would recommend moving the pump further from the surface to see if this makes a difference.

Alex,
Thanks for your reply. I have taken great lengths to make sure I'm not pulling any air into the wetside. I run my 2 MP40s and 1 MP60 on a WMX controller and I've reduced the value I run at one percent at a time until I've found a setting that does not in pull air. In addition, I've turned the unit off watched bubbles exit the wetside, turned it back on, ran for an hour confirming no air was pulled in, then turned the unit off again to watch more bubbles rise from the wetside.

In addition, to this air bubble issue, I confirmed this weekend that my dry side is much louder than another hobbyist in my area. My MP60 is easily 2x as loud as two different MP60s that I was able to audit this weekend. My MP60 makes a very loud whirling/whining noise. My MP60 is installed with the proper hanger and wire tie holder.

I would like to know what needs to be done to get my unit swapped out. It was purchased in October from Aquarium Specialty. Please let me know how best to proceed here. I've also left a voice mail and sent an email.

Thanks in advance

I agree with Alex, the wet side won't make micro bubbles. It just pushes the water. I am watching mine right now. Can we see a video of it making bubbles? I am intrigued.
