mpcart's 240G build

Actually, I'm in the process of adding a frag tank to the system. I have a 2 ft x 3 ft x 1ft high tank I'm plumbing now. It will be lit by a 250W Radium just like the main display and plumbed into the same sump. That should give all frags and DT colonies the same growing conditions. I'll post pics soon.

Please keep the updated coming Mike. Can't believe I wasn't subbed before but I am now. Hope to see your incredible setup in person one of these days. :)

Thanks, Brett. I think I need a little help from you in the area of wire management. Next step is a really need to organize the equipment a little better and get all my wires out of the way.

I added a frag tank that is plumbed into the the main system with the same 250W Radium lighting as the DT. Even though it is the same water and lighting I'm getting different colors from some of the frags I stick in there. Some grow the same as the DT but others don't seem to color up right.

I haven't had any issues or system changes other than changing out the skimmer to an SRO 5000 EXT. I've also been having difficulty keeping up with Ca/Alk demands. I think it's time to upgrade from my GEO 618 to a 624.

Mike,
That looks stunning! I need to coordinate a time with you to meet up and buy some frags from you.

What corals do you have in the tank?

Thanks. Been lucky so far.

Maxx - the tank is all SPS with the exception of a few zoas and rics. Most of the SPS are pretty common and I've recently acquired a few less common frags I'm trying to grow out.

Fraggable stuff includes

Red planet
Neon frogskin acro
Green slimer
Vivid tricolor
Ora Hawkins
Purple slimer
Leishman's acro
Spongodes
Yellow/green porites
Orange cap
Purple cap
Green cap
Pink lemonade acro
Strawberry shortcake acro
Orange Digitata
Blue Digitata
Wintergreen acro
Blue tipped stag
Ponape birdsnest
Birds of paradise birdsnest
Miami orchid acro
Superman Monti
Neon green stylo
Purple stylo

And a bunch of frags I'm growing out.

Wow, you don't think about how much variety you have in a tank until you start to write it down.

The one in the middle is a teal blue tipped stag. The one on the rock on the right is the Miami orchid. It is a rose color with purple tips.

Wow! Really looking fine!

Looking nice man :)

Excellent work! Nice clean SPS tank, really like the coral placement.

Thanks, guys. I worked hard to get the aquascape I wanted which was a couple islands and lots of open area. Unfortunately that meant less space for corals and now I'm running out and they are growing into each other. Nice problem to have.

I just got caught back up on your thread and as usual it looks fantastic. Keep up the great tank.

I saw mpcart's tank in person last weekend. His pictures are great, but the system looks even better in person. I'm envious to say the least.
Everything looks incredibly healthy and his corals looks awesome.
