Mr. Perrone's Science Club

Good Morning RC,

I will be turning this account over to my science club students in the near future. If you could take their questions with the understanding that they are completely new to the hobby and very curious. My students are in 7th and 8th grade and come to school over an hour early three times a week to participate in Science Club.

We currently have:
A 40g bare bottom, gsp dominated reef
A 29g with a symbiotic pair of a yellow watchman goby and a pistol shrimp along with a coral beauty,
A 20g with xenia, mushrooms and candycanes. This is our jerk tank with a sixline wrasse, an electric blue damsel and a pygmy angel.
A 20g with large mushrooms and macroalgae. A pair of clowns and an electric blue damsel.
A 14g biocube with a single seahorse kept at 74-76 degrees.
A 10g qt tank (probably need to be upgraded....see below)

We are in the process of accepting a donation of equipment to set up a 150g mixed reef in one of our hallways.

Thank you all for your time and input for my students!

Thanks everyone! My students should have access starting next week. First up is fish compatibility for the 150g so we can QT them while the tank is set up and cycled.

Are you going to have them come up with a list of fish they would like to have and then have us. Go threw the list with recommendations on what is compatible based on there top fish?

They are researching reef safe fish that can live in a 150g or smaller tank. They should be posting some of their ideas for feedback next week. Thanks!

Pretty cool how science classrooms incorporate reefing into the curriculum these days. Welcome and goodluck with the 150 build!

I really like the look of the gsp dominated tank!
