Mr. Scarey Monster Spider!

So has come the day!
The day To say...
I have experienced this one first hand!
I have been getting wild blue zoathid colonys from Bali and one of mine housed a ... zoathid eatting sea spider!!!

It was small.. maybe a 1/4 inch.. but he was munching down on some zoas!

I pulled him off imediately ... Im so glad I spoted him... it was midnight when I found it!


Can someone post a picture on here of a zoathid eatting sea spider for viewers to know what Im talking about.. I cant seem to locate a good detailed picture.

I would love to see a pic with the fangs exposed. Aren't they supposed to be really large for the size of the creature? Also since they have the fangs I was wondering if they are for defense or if they use them to rip into the zoas.

The Fangs are used like proboscus(sp?) ... they penetrate the zoathids body with the fangs and suck the corals insides out.. digesting the insides...

I dont think they are harmfull to humans though...
And I dont know how large they get... but mine was relatively small...

they look kinda scary, but in my experience they move unbelievably slow, so they arent too bad
