Today we finally started setting up our new tank. I placed the msx 200 skimmer in the sump and at first it started right up. Then I need to unplug it to rearrange some drains and then plugged it back in...well nothing happened. I blew through the air tube like I do with the msx 160 I have, but it didn't start.
Does anyone know of any start up issues with these skimmers?
I have the pump facing down like the picture shows. I am wondering if it could be air trapped in the motor? It is a little difficult to take the pump out to look at it. It screws in the side of the skimmer. I had a bubble master 200 a few years ago...I know people complained about how the bubble master connects to the skimmer body, but it was much easier to take off and work on.
On the msx 200 I have to remove the entire skimmer to get at the pump and that is not an easy thing to do. Is there a way I can prevent start up issues on the msx?
By the way, I am using the stock needle wheel in it. I found on my msx 160 that the needle wheel works much better and I have less start up issues with it.
I just wish I could get this new one to start!!!
Thanks, Kristin
