Hello All! Hope everyone survived Friday the 13th.
I thought I would post some news about some upcoming meetings and the schedule for the rest of 2007 as it stands right now. First I'd like to let you all know that we have been working on spicing things up at the meetings, and in particular ways to bring value to the MTRC membership. One of the things that has worked well for the past 2 meetings is topic presentations and a time for Questions/Answers. We are planning on continuing that, with the topic at this month's meeting being on 2-part calcium and alkalinity supplementation. Second, everyone loves LFS meets, and so we added Fins to our list of supporters and will have a meeting there in November. And third, we have been working on getting some speakers to come to our meetings. We have some people we are talking to right now so we'll see how things work out.
So announcement #1 :celeb1: :
Fishdoc11 will be our first guest speaker for this year!
(Thanks a LOT Chris!!) He will be doing a presentation at the Aquatic Critter meeting on the Care of SPS Corals. I'm trying to nail down the equipment and the logistics with the Aquatic Critter to possibly do a powerpoint presentation, so I have to clear this with AC, but I also need to locate a projector and a portable screen. I think I can get a projector but I don't know anyone with a screen. So there are still some things to be worked out, but regardless, we should have an awesome meeting at AC in June, and it will be great to get some quality time with Chris on what it takes to have a thriving SPS tank.
The second thing to mention is here is the rest of the schedule for the year:

We are working on further enhancements to the meetings, such as door prizes and also fraging of corals at regular meetings, so we'll keep you posted as those take shape.
