Mts snails and sea water ?

They can't. Like other Thiarids, they live in the streams that lead down to the saltwater. They can tolerate stagnant water, and fairly (or very) polluted fresh water, but they won't survive in saltwater. I'm sure you read on the page you linked that they, also like other Thiarids, can carry liver flukes and some other parasites dangerous to humans?

Cheers,

Don

Thanks for the answer. My mts are aquarium bred and they can't survive outside in Iceland, at least not over the winter.

Ah, ok, I wasn't really worried about accidental introduction as much as the fact that they may have hosted parasite larvae when you obtained them. The snails only act as intermediate hosts though, I believe, so if you have had them for several generations they should be safe?

Cheers,

Don

I got the first four (three?) from a pet store, they problay where raised there. The rest of my mts come from these four snails.
