I have a small Maximus and today it has been moving down the rock it is on. At the same time is seems to be expelling a mucous-like net from it's underside. Can anyone tell me if this is a concern?

that's a crocea and it looks like a web from a vermetid snail. vermetid snails are harmless but ugly

OK I have added a larger photo. I arrived at work today and found the clam off the rock and top down in the sand. I picked it up and noticed the byssal or foot is shredded at the bottom. I place it half way up the rock instead of at the top. It is in a 24 Aquapod with a 150w MH light. I also watched a small white crab with orange like fur run across the rock that the clam was attached to. I am thinking it had access to the hole the clam achored to. Any advice welcomed please.
