Multiple anemones in one tank?

We currently have two anemones in our 46g Bowfront. We have a small Condy and a Rose. They are currently living across the tank from each other and seem to be doing fine, but i've heard horror stories about anemones putting out poisons and killing each other.

Is this true? Do anemones poison each other? If we can keep both of them, that'd be great. If we can't, then the Condy will be going back to the fish store! Is there anything we need to do to keep both of them healthy?

Thanks,
Ed

I think that you are going to have to wait and see if either show any sort of adverse reaction. Some, myself included keep multiple anemones in the same tank without any apparent problems but others have reported problems.

i have 3 anenomes in my 45 gallon tank, two bigger orange guys and a smaller purple tipped one. They all co exist just fine. they each have their own spot in the tank that they like and my two clarkii clows spend time showing love to each one of them

i have had multiple anemones including blue carpet, purple long tentacle, and bubble tips - no problems with any. Each found their own spot. I did have one cinnamon clown that was 6 years old that tried to host in all of them except for the carpet. He was more of a problem than the anemones.

Well, they're apparently doing okay. The Condy moved himself over to a spot with better lighting but the Rose seems happy. They're both eating and are all extended out nicely. Hopefully it won't be an issue.

Thanks to everyone for the responses... i'm still fairly new (a few months) here and maybe tackling anemones right away wasn't the best plan. But my Onyx Clowns love the rose and the girlfriend loves the Condy. :D
