Multiple Royal Grammas?

I have read that they are fine with conspecies and have also read that one to a tank. Does anyone keep more than one in a tank? I have a 6' 210 gallon tank. Thanks,

Tim

I originally put 5 in my 400G tank. One died, one went carpet surfing and the other three are doing fine. They even hang out together for the most part but there is some aggression between them at times.

RG's can be kept in groups and will form haraems the same as Orchid dottybacks. Problem with the grammas is that the change sex VERY quickly (something daft like in a week!!). I think female to male, but not quite sure which way around. though it is only one way.

here in the U.K all RG's in stores are kept individually and are usually near enough fully grown. So all we can be is probebly male fish, that will not get on with each other.
If a store has more than one gramma in a tank they should be fine together when you take them home. Or i would be tempted to try very small fish if they are available to you.

I have 2 in my 55 reef. Normally they do okay although sometimes they do fight like crazy. I have never seen either one hurt in these fights.. they just flare their mouths and make wierd gestures at each other. It isn't advised to keep more than on in a small tank but I rescued mine from a lfs whose entire heating system went down and the water was 58 degrees. I didnt want them to die there.

yeah your good especially w/ a 210 -- the brazillian grammas are supposed to be even meaner. regular royal grammas will get along with eachother w/ an occasional fin nip and mouth flaring

I used to have two in a 50. They were introduced together and everything was fine. Just a little bit of aggressive mouth flaring around feeding time. Nothing serious though.
