Multiple Tangs?

hippos get big I dont suggest you put it in a 90g unless you plan to upgrade in the near future. IMO a few smaller fish is much more pleasing than one or two huge tangs

Most of the tang of different shapes will coexist eventually whether added the same time or not (provided you are giving them the swimming space). There are exceptions however.....

I'm not sure on the exact setup of the tank yet. I wanted a reef tank.. now I'm thinking FOWLR+ 1 anemone... haha simply because I love the relationship between clowns and their hosts.

is it true that you can add another tang to a tank with an existing tang if you keep the lights off for a day or 2? I read that once but i dont know if its true.

I want a hippo tang for my 90 too, but I know my tank is too small for a full grown hippo tang. If I get a small hippo, how long would it take to get full grown?

You want to stay away from adding different tangs with the same body type. they will fight to the death.
Nonsense!
If you have enough volume, you can do it. I have currently-blue,naso,scopas,orange shoulder, tomini, kole, chevron, yellow, atlantic blue, vlamingi, sailfin, yellow, lemon mimic, purple and sohal and they cohabitate peacefully.

yellow, blue, sailfin, powder blue--introduced in that order.
In hindsight I have learned that the yellow being the most territorial should be introduced last.
However the all get along great now--the yellow usually chases them around for about 3 days and then leaves the others along

Yellow + Powder Brown in a 125 introduced in that order. A few scuffles the first couple weeks, peaceful thereafter.

I do think 6' of tank length helps.
