Multiple triggerfish in a system?

Anyone kept or keeping multiple Triggerfish in a system? If so, how did it work out? What size system were they in?

I have a Picasso Triggerfish all alone in my 240 gallon fish only and I am thinking about possibly adding another type of triggerfish.

Thanks!

In a 240 you would be ok with another, maybe 2 depending on what species. I have seen tanks less than 100g with 9 triggers before! It wasnt right, but the point is ina 240 you have lots of room. Especially if you get smaller ones.

It can be done in any size tank depending on the duration and the breeds and their size. 3 triggers, all 2" in a 55? Easily. 3 triggers 6" in a 55? no. 6 triggers all 3-5" in a 100 yes for a while, in a 180 oh yes!

Thanks for the information! The Picasso is only about 2 - 2.5". I really like the Niger or the Clown Triggerfish. I understand they both get big and the Clown Triggerfish has a reputation for clearing out tanks as it turns to adulthood, but they are just so cool.

The LFS down the street had a 12" Clown Triggerfish on display. That thing is awesome! Itââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢s always looking for attention. It even lets people pet it. It loves to squirt water. Of course it is by itself as it has evicted all the tankmates they have tried with it.

Anyway they have a REALLY nice looking Clown Triggerfish in that's about 4" long. I have been thinking really hard about buying it.

ID say go for the clown. I have one that is aproaching 9 inches that has never killed abother fish, it only has problems with my blueface angel who is a bastard! There have been occasional fin nips but nothing serious. Try out one around 4"

This dude? Thanks! I like it too...

I have a humu a bursa and a niger all in the 3.5" range they are in with a dog face puffer a toby puffer a SFE , two clown fish and two chromis. all this in a 125 . I do plan on up grading by this fall . to a tank in the 200- 300 gallon range .

But to answer the question , there is no fighting in the tank . it gets a tad ugly at dinner time . but as sson as they realize theres plenty to go around everybody grabs a piece and goes to there spot in the tank.

Heres a link to some pics I took yesterday
