I already have a yellow coris wrasse in my 40 cube and am thinking about getting a Melanurus Wrasse. What do you guys think the chances of them getting along is?
Probably a fairly good chance that they will get along OK. I have 3 different Halichoeres wrasse together and no problem. The Halichoeres seem to mind their own business but each individual fish is different so you just never know.
I added a Melanurus Wrasse in my tank a month ago using acclimating container for few days, and there is no aggression between all my wrasses. I have a yellow coris and two leorpard wrasses
I must dissagree with the general consensus. I have 3 different Halichoeres wrasses in a 210. Adding the Melanurus with the Chrysurus to the confines of a 40 is likely to create problems as they mature. Not a good idea IMO. These guys get fairly large for a 40 on their own let alone for two of them. That and they can get downright aggressive towards each other if the situation requires it, having two largish fish in a 40 will create that situation.
