i bought a yellow sebae anemone(http://www.createareef.com/invertebrates/anemones/yellow-sebea-anemone/yellow-sebae-anemone.html) and a bi-color long tentacle anemone yesterday. i have an ocellaris and a saddleback maroon clownfish pair. all were wild caught. i recently put my ocellaris back into my dp from my qt because it was sick, and they don't seem to be hosting the anemones. is this natural? and should i know anything special about these anemones?

If you bought the yellow sebea from a store in wood Dale it isn't supposed to be that color and has been dyed. However I could be wrong of which store you purchased from. Those do not typically live long in captivity

It is hit or miss getting them to host. Give it some time and it may just happen. Your beat bet is having the maroon host the sebea, IMO

yeahh, i got it from that place. how about the long tentacle anemone?

wow, that was fast. the maroon is already hosting the sebae, i just need the ocellaris. when i bought them, there were two pairs. the ocellaris both got sick so i put them in a hospital tank. the female died, and the male is left alone. i hope to find a female for him, but i don't know the way to do that. he is going to have the lta i guess.

that doesn't look as bad as i thought, there were some REALLY bright one's yesterday. i think it looks pretty good actually

one of the employees told me some of the lta's and sebea's were more $$$ because they were made brighter and "more eye" appealing

It is dyed, unfortunately it is fairly common with H. crispas. I would stay away from any store/vendor that opening sells them -- like the link you provided.

The track record for them recovering is poor at best, and having another species of anemone in the tank might make that harder.

What size tank?
What lights?
How long has the tank been set up?
What are your current water parameters?
Any picture of the other anemone?
