Hey Everyone,
Hoping for some advice on care for my mummy eye chalice. When i first purchased, it was bright green with about 10 bright pink eyes. It was about the size of a half dollar. My tank is a 120g + refuge, two 250wt MH(20k) + 2 Atinic T5, and it is 36" high and 24" deep. I put the the guy on the bottom quarter or third of the tank, on a rock point towards the front (knowing to put it deeper and not directly under lights). It has since about doubled in size, but all the green coloring has completely left it, now brown/tan with pink eyes. I do not believe it is a flow issue, because the polyps at the eyes are extended frequently, and extend far during feeding. I of course do all my mineral additives daily and phosphate removers and what not and all my other colors are brightening up every day. And also by my testing, I think it is safe to assume my levels are spot on. So why is my mummy eye losing all of its color? the only way to do less lighting would be to literally cover it up. could it possibly need more? or not a lighting issue at all? any advice from people with experiance with this chalice would be a tremendous help. thank you for your time.
