I had my new 6line wrasse in QT tank for over 3 weeks and decided its time to put in DT. I put him in yesterday and it went to hiding under the overflow. Today it was less shy and started to explore the rocks a little. But mostly hiding behind frogspawn branches. At 8pm, I saw him getting more active and thought tomorrow it will be less shy. However when I looked at my tank smattering 10pm, my biggest hermit crab (it has a 2cm claw) was devouring it. My wrasse was 1" big and health. No sickness, no fast breathing or anything.
Do you think my hermit killed it when its sleping in a cacoon? I have a hippo tang, 2 clowns, 1 yellow tail damsel and a clown goby. Is it possible my crab grabbed the fish when sleeping and didn't let it go?
I am so angry that after 3 weeks of water changes and water tests it is killed in day 1.
