i came home to a red-legged hermit crab ripping pieces of my ultra crocea's mantle off!!!!!
anyone else heard of or experienced this??

should i do anything?

Crabs, shrimp, and bristlle worms will 99.999999% of the time never hurt a healthy clam. (Never say never...but anything's a possibility)

But, they are usually the first to move in for the kill for a clam that is on it's way out. Remove the crab if possible and nurture the clam.

clam was dying....NOW DEAD ALONG WITH A
branching hammer
slab hammer
white long tentacled plate coral

Had some sort of bio bloom (possibly from leaving a decaying coral-white plate-in too long!?!)
