Murphy's Law is alive and well

I thought everyone might get a kick out of this..
I travel once a year for business, go to a convention for a week.

I have fully automated tank with top-off switches, etc. The only thing my wife and family have to do this week is feed the fish once in a while.

My power hasn't gone off in 18 months or more.

While driving to the airport, I told my wife I checked the 7-day forecast, no snow or bad weather, so I didn't drag the generator out of the garage and put it out back( I bought a generator solely for the tank)

I landed, driving to where I am staying, and my wife calls. A freak thunderstorm and we are without power.

Long story short, thanks to my wife and a neighbor I woke up, generator performed fine, and tank survived fine for the 4+ hour outage.

At first I though she was kidding. I owe her big time for dragging that generator to our back patio.

I still can't believe it happened!

anything can and will happen. i was away for about a week and my dad was watching my tank. my lights are on electronic timers and sometimes when the metal halides turn on(or other times cant really figure that out), the timers will freak out and reset turning all the lights off. not a huge deal exept for talking my dad through resetting all the timers.

glad to hear everything is fine. I think my nieghbor thought i was a jerk when I had my generator running during the last power outage.:D
