I thought everyone might get a kick out of this..
I travel once a year for business, go to a convention for a week.
I have fully automated tank with top-off switches, etc. The only thing my wife and family have to do this week is feed the fish once in a while.
My power hasn't gone off in 18 months or more.
While driving to the airport, I told my wife I checked the 7-day forecast, no snow or bad weather, so I didn't drag the generator out of the garage and put it out back( I bought a generator solely for the tank)
I landed, driving to where I am staying, and my wife calls. A freak thunderstorm and we are without power.
Long story short, thanks to my wife and a neighbor I woke up, generator performed fine, and tank survived fine for the 4+ hour outage.
At first I though she was kidding. I owe her big time for dragging that generator to our back patio.
I still can't believe it happened!
