Mushoom overload!

God of thunder

Mushrooms are taking over my tank! i´ve tried injecting them with calsium and nothing works?

How can i stop them ruining my tank?

take rocks that are full of them, and sell them to the lfs for some credit and new LR to replace the rock! No need to kill them.

they are not ruining your tank if you are ok with having a mushroom dominated tank, lol

i would slap on the gloves and perform surgery to that tank, don't kill them but trade for a rock free of mushrooms.

if you put the rock in there you can take it out, not fun though

good luck

I apriciate th effort but i´m getting desperate! i cant remove these rocks with out a major operation which concerns me quite a bit. I agree that saving these things is far more positive aproach.
In this case that simply isn´t possible so i need advice in how to kill them.

I hope you understand and will help me.

I'm a newby but i was wondering what would happen if you injected them by syringe with lemon juice? I know that people do that with aipstasia.

Only one way to find out :)

I've read a few times on these forums that directing a stream from a small powerhead at them will cause them to detach.

This has not been working in my tank. After blasting the living daylights out of a rock full of mushrooms for three days now all they do is shrivel up and hang on for dear life. Not enough flow? Too much flow?

Does anyone know how exactly this is done?

3 days is really not that long of a time. These are mushrooms not race horses. Give them another week or 2 to see if they move.

I have a shroom problem too and I would be hesitant to kill them in your DT because that could create a toxic environment for the remaining livestock. I'm sorry to say my advice would be to bite the bullet and remove the infested rocks and manually remove the shrooms or trade the rocks like others have suggested. Good luck!
