mushroom disease help!!!!

About a month ago I bought a bubble coral and it faded away. It started by turning brown and seemed to swell some or get bigger then it started falling apart with little cotton looking balls coming off of it. later after that coral totally died, although i dipped it long before it was all gone, I noticed a few of my red mushrooms bigger than ever. A few days after that i notice that those same mushrooms that were huge shrivelled up and falling apart. I would greatly appreciate some help with this disease before it kills the rest of the corals in my tank.

my water quality is excellent, I know that is not my problem. Only the mushrooms around the dead bubble coral are affected so far.

can u post a pic of the affected corals? u said the bubble turned brown? was it covered in a brown jelly or did the coral literally turn brown?

I hope that these pics will help but I do not have a very good camera. I noticed that there are a few small holes in this one and looks like it has been cut or bitten but there are no new critters added to the tank. a few days ago this shroom was really big and now about a fifth of the size. There are little white worm looking things, but to me they seem to just be part of the internal organs.

they are the internal organs, something is irritating them bad. i realize you say your water is exellent, but we need actual readings to help. also, keep an eye out for crabs n such that may be picking at them or bothering them. i honestly dont think its a disease.

I have the exact same thing happening to one of my mushrooms and I swear they are parasites. Can we get a confirmation as they appear to be reproducing.

I believe I understand what white stringy internal organs look like (but I sometimes question my ability), as I have seen them when cutting or disturbing a mushroom, but the pictures show what I have. They appear to be round, purple in color and the edges are white and have a distinct shape. they are also attached to the bottom of the mushroom only.

Pull the "infected" shroom out and toss it unless it's a rare or "special" one to your heart no point in spreading an unknwon "disease when it dies to the other ones around it. just my opinion though what do I know. >:D

My problem is not flatworms and it seems that it is not a disease either. I have not seen a crab in the tank, but I know those little buggers are good hiders. I have to ask are there snails that could eat my shrooms. I have attached a picture of a turbo snail that has a tag-a-long snail that has a black proboscus. It never leaves the shell of the turbo. would be nice to know that it also is a herbavore. If it is a crab is there a good way to catch them without digging out all your rock.

I am not sure I am on the right track, but I have thought of a couple of things.

1) If a bubble came apart in your tank, it is unlikely that your parameters remained "perfect."

2) Bubbles are pretty toxic. Is it possible that the bubbles landed on the mushrooms, causing their problem?

3) Quite honestly, I don't see a massive problem in the pics.

4) If you don't mind a bubble coming apart in your tank, why pull the mushrooms? Personally, I would do everything I could to keep them alive. Even if that meant just giving them time. A massive water change is worth less than a life to me.

It does seem likely that the as the bubble disintergrated landed on this shroom and another that was lower than the bubble. It does not seem that anything else is affected in the tank. Took out the bad shrooms and did a water change. Everything started to look better before the water change except those two bad ones. Just wish I knew why the bubble went. Thanks for all the help.
