Hello all i decided to remove my elephant ear mushroom since it was attached to a 25 lb rock
it started as the size as a nickle and over 2 years grew to the size as a dinner plate about 16" when open
i got him off but the mouth is showing out of the bottom of mushroom
it never split in 2 years just grew to about 16"
i have some very similar mushrooms that look the exact same i started with one 6 months ago and have 12 now
in the pick when i picked it up it closed up it's mouth but if i let it sit its mouth is open and you can see all the way through to the rock
i want to save this mushroom so i can give it to somebody that will enjoy it as much as i have in the 2 years i had it
i am getting in to sps now and it took up way too much space
by the pics (they are bad sorry) will this mushroom heal up or is he a to far gone (the pic is in my frag tank and at that spot there is very little flow)
i am sure its a stupid question since you can slice them in to pizza slices and frag them and they will grow in to a full head (but i have never fragged mushroom)
but all the tissue under the mouth is gone (i can see the mouth from the bottom of the mushroom
