Mushroom splitting

Hello!
I recently bought a small frag of three green mushroom polyps. One of which appears to be dividing. I have the frag just flat on my sand bed and there is not enough room on the frag for another polyp, Im worried my blennie will knock it over if I try to put it elsewhere. So I have some epoxy I could try to affix it to a rock or something, what are some suggestions? This is pretty new to me. I have had my tank for a year and a half now but corals are new.
Thanks for any input!

Reefgoddess808, That's great news it's splitting. When you say "frag" do you mean the mushroom is attached to a plug? When I want to move a mushroom, I just grab and peel it off whatever it's stuck to and place it where I want it. (but theres no guarantee it's going to stay there) :)

Thanks for the info waterboy. And yes, there are three on a flat plug currently sitting on the bottom. Im not sure im confident enough to peel n stick just yet, LOL.

Talf...how incredibly insightful your post was. Im sure the four before it were equally genius and useful.

They will move around, seemingly at will. If you want it in a certain area, give it a shot. Hard to hurt these guys.

Mushroom splitting

This forum is for large polyp Stoney corals there is a separate forum for mushroom corals

Does anyone else see non sense posts like these and then enjoy laughing at the fact that the poster has usually been here for less then 10 posts??? This forum is not like that so i respectfully say let moderators take care of moves and policing. Also not to sound mean but as a new poster you hardly have the right to police threads.

As to the OPs question, my brother got a 3 mouthed ric which was starting its division and one of them simply just plopped off. So I'd say leave it where it's at and as long as its in a good spot flow wise and light wise it will happily divide! Pics??

Not great shots, it was the one in front (which no longer looks as though it wants to split o.O ) And I just added some pods so the lights were off. From what I can tell my shrooms experience some shrinkage just after lights out.

Theres plenty of space on there for some new ones, lol.

If they are tight on space they will just detach, then you can place them where you want, or let them find their own spot.
