Mushrooms in Trouble?

I brought home some mushroom polyps from a friends tank and glued them to a piece of rock as well as put the whole rock into a media filter bag so they would be encouraged to attach and wouldn't be blown off by the flow. Of course when i did this they had shrunken up considerably but after taking the bag off the rock and letting them have a full day of being in the flow and lights of the tank the mushrooms remain shrunken up (some are ozzing white stuff from their mouths too)...what is wrong? I thought mushrooms were almost indestructible? I have some other mushrooms in the tank that are doing fine (bought from my LFS). Should I worry or will these shrooms come back?

The thing is I have other mushrooms that are doing just fine so I don't think it's a water quality issue or else they would be effected too right?

I am guessing white stuff is stress slime. keep them low flow low light for a little bit and see how they do over the course of the week- slowly bring them up to where youw ant them?

They expel their guts when stressed. I would take them out of the bag and place them in a lower light/flow area. Most likely they will come around just fine.

I've taken them out of the bag. The problem is i don't have a very low light area where i can put them as they are attached to a medium sized piece of rock and it won't fit. Right now they are about mid level in my tank. Will they pull through?

Do a good water change. Get a strawberry basket and stick a couple of suction-cups in it and at the top of your tank with rubble. They probably won't accept being touched on all sides all the time. If the entire tank is well lit then clip a couple of credit cards to the sides of the basket or something to block some light. Luck with them. I am loosing some green yumas that must not have taken collection and transport too well. Seems that the bigger rocks usually don't.
My problem is a very active Tiger pistol shrimp. If I set anything smaller than 2-3 inch piece of rock he will use it to construct tunnels with.
One day one side of the 3" SB will be piled high and the next day the other. Well, keeps the sand clean.
