Mushrooms mating fighting or just buddies.

So I have two mushrooms that were about 5-6" away from each other separated by sand. I saw the other day one managed to move next to the other one. Now they are right up on each other. Are they fighting mating or just needing a buddy. One is over lapping the other. The other

Likely because the conditions were better in that area (though I've never really seen a mushroom move so much as bail out).
