has anyone heard that mushrooms split over 84 degrees?, i have a green hairy shroom that has quadrupled in size but wont split, someone told me they had same problem, but they had a temp spike like 84-85 and it split, any comments?
Stress (which could be caused by a sudden, large temperature increase) can lead to asexual reproduction. The same thing could happen with sudden changes in any parameter. I wouldn't attribute temperature to be the mysterious answer to the problem.
I wouldn't start messing up your tank parameters on purpose, though.
my green hairy shrooms do not split the only way they have multiplied is from they attaching to multiple rocks and then the rocks are moved or shift causing the mushroom foot to tear thus the piece of foot growing into a new mushroom
