mushrooms taking over

HI to everyone, I have never used this site so not really sure how to go about it. I have a 225 reef and fish. I don't want to disrupt my tanks and throw all my live rock out to get rid of the mushrooms that are really out of control. It has been set up for couple of years and water quality is right on. Any Ideas on what I might be able to do to get rid of the mushrooms would be of help. Thanks for any ideas. Ron

just take a pair of plyers, stick your arm in the tank and pull as many as you'd like out. then put them in a bag and ship them to me

poke them all till they close up nice and small and use tweezers to pull them off the rocks then use a tooth brush or the like to remove any residue left over and your done.

I had the same problem and the above "kind-of-works". the only problem is that any tiny piece of mushroom left behind will grow into more mushrooms so you are going to be doing it forever. I had a plague of red mushrooms and I curse the day I bought them. In the end I took left all the rocks out of the tank and left em outside in the snow overnight, and then recured them - this was the only effective way to get rid of my mushrooms when I had *several* hundreds of them.
