Mutant anemone =o

i have an anemone with small bumps over all his tentacles. it also has some super fat ones and some really small ones, some that go off of others, and some that are really short/long. almost looks like tree branches hah! but why does it do this? its been like this from the day i got it 1 year ago. oh its a BTA fed once a week under t5s

One of my bubble tip anemones does this. It started doing this during a tank move and hasn't ever cleared up. Its clones do the same thing.

I have nine other anemones with beautiful bubble tips and no bumps in the same tank. The 14" deep tank is lit with three 150 DE halides.

I had researched a while back and was able to find other cases but nobody could explain why they do this and what you can do to prevent it.

They are otherwise healthy and my clowns host about half of the anemones including the ones with bumpy tentacles.
