My 110 Equipment List

I bought a Deep Sea Aquatics 110 with center overflow at my LFS the other week and plan on doing a reef tank. I've had freshwater tanks in the past and have been looking at doing a reef tank for a while now. I've been reading and lurking on here for a few months doing some research. My plan is to do things right the first time the best I can. Below is the equipment I plan on using.

Lifereef CLF2 sump with a 12" refugium (On the December build list)
2 - Vortech MP40w ES propeller pumps (going to do the Reeflink system too)
3 - Ecotech Radion XR30W (tank is 60x20x21, do I need the pros?)
Tunze ATO unit
2- Jager 200w heaters
Live Rock (probably all, still debating)
Live Sand or Dry Sand (still debating)
An RO/DI unit

I think that is all the big stuff. I'm going to use one of my old 20 gallon tanks as a QT, if I have leftover money for fish and corals. Maybe Santa will be nice to me.

Any concerns would be appreciated.

Well looking at Ecotech's website I could get away with just two of the XR30 lights. Any more thoughts from anyone.

if you planned on 3 ecotech lights. i would stick wit 3. yes two of them would work, but 3 would give you absolute coverage if your goin full SPS tank...if its a mixed tank, then 2 lights will be fine and you could always get a third light if needed down the road...

If you're planning to run and GFO or Carbon, you may want to also think about getting a media reactor (or 2 if you plan on both). I use the NextReef MR1 media reactor... you'll find tons of great reviews for these. Also, what about return pump? (not sure if the Lifereef sump includes one as I'm not familiar with those).

Thanks for the help everyone.

The Lifereef system I'm getting is coming with 2 media reactors and a bio-reactor built in. He uses Magdrive pumps and what is needed will be included in the build as well.

Well I ordered 2 Vortech MP40w ES units as well as the Tunze ATO. I'll order the lights at the end of next month probably. Now I'm starting to think Neptune Apex and ditch the Reeflink.

That was quick. Vortechs and Tunze unit arrived today.

Can I edit my first post? I figured that I could turn this into my build thread.

If you plan on doing sand make sure you DON'T get fine grain sand, it'll blow around with your MP40's and you'll also get sand dunes. I regret going with Ocean Direct Original Grade, I wish I would of went with tropical eden reef flakes. I've read that bacteria will weigh the sand down but it hasn't happened in my tank yet, I'm still going through a cycle though.

I like the dimensions of your tank. I would stick with 3 Radion's for the best coverage. Kessil would work as well there's ton's of options out there.

IMO 2 Radions will work fine. I have pros in a deeper tank w sand and they are way short of full. No SPS yet but I've no doubt I won't be running them 100%. But your tank is 12" longer so less overlap so the pros might be good if you buy 2.

Forgot about this thread for a little bit. Thanks everyone for the replies. I just need my Lifereef sump, lights, sand and rock yet. I already have everything else I pretty much need. Bought test kits for everything, cleaning supplies. Bought a Neptune Apex that arrived today. I put together a water change station in the basement and waiting for the plumber to do just a little bit of work. Decided to hook up a water softener for the house and change some plumbing I didn't like out. I made a list of equipment that I have/needed and have just about everything crossed off.
