Hello Everyone,
It has been a long time coming but finally I have built, setup and transferred my reef tank. Here are some pictures of the process and I still have minor trim work to finish including side panels, crown molding and some other trim pieces.

This is my first test to post pictures

I will get some pictures tonight of the sump and plumbing and closed loop if anyone is interested.

Also going to take some more pics of my inhabitants

I still have to install some moldings, crown molding, and various trim work. Thanks for checking it out.

Filter socks aren't eliminating micro bubbles. Any suggestions? I think that my overflow is dropping water in too fast and it backs up in the sock and then overflows the socks. Any suggestions? Thanks

Are you using a drain set up like a Durso or Stockman?

Do you have a balll valve on the main drain line to control flow?

The line needs to be full all the time to control noise and limit air bubbles.

HTH

Are you haveing a problem with woreking it the tank or behind with the bookshelves on the sides? I'm always getting behind my tank and having it setup like that would be a pain for me. is there a way to get bvack there or do you not even bother.

I have a durso on both overflows, so noise isn't a problem or any sucking or siphon problems. The bulkheads are reduced to 1" and that drops into my sump and into the filter socks. But they quickly overflow the socks, I guess because the flow is so strong they don't have time to soak through the sock. I washed them real good twice thinking that maybe the buildup was from dietrus in the sock, but it isn't. The really odd thing about this is the one return has no micro bubbles and the other one does.

I am at a loss right now. The microbubbles aren't that bad but I really would like to have none.

Maybe there's a slight elevation difference between the two overflows?

There is on mine and it makes one gurgle every once in a while.

Perhaps, try cutting back the return floe until it no longer overwhelms the filter sock.

BTW, Really like the finished shelf/stand, looks great!
