My 120g build pix

Math error, im only around 13% of saturation not 25%
5 gallons = 19 liters x 12ml = 228ml
I only dosed 25ml

13% is around 5% boost in calc. I think

Thank you Ryan nice setup. I think that would work on my sump. Would give me some sense of security against flooding as you stated. But would I really have to drill a hole in the my sump? I was thinking on putting a piece of egg crate in the sump similar to you but not drilling the sump but mounting the valve on the egg crate inside it. Not sure if there would be cons to doing it this way.

I dont see why you couldnt, just drop the water line over the side of the tank instead of thru it. Mount the float on the eggcrate or even a scrap piece of plexiglass with a hole drilled in it. Then silicone that inside the tank. I think the plexiglass would be a little stiffer.

I think i'm going to try it. Thing that sucks is i don't have room for a 5 gal so i guess i'll have to use a 2 1/2 gal pail i have. How long does the 5 gal last for you??

It depends on the temp and humidity of my room. Id say on average 3 days on a 150 gallon setup. I have plans to add a 40gallon brute as my top off some day. Thing thats nice about it is that the 1/4" line is small and can be run from anywhere. You dont have a closet near by you could hide a bucket? I have room on the other side of the wall my tank is on to set a 40g top off tank and ill run the 1/4" line thru the wall. I could have that done with my setup now in 5 minutes. Drill 1 little hole. Just dont need 40gallon at this time and the room isnt heated behind my tank so it would freeze. This summer Ill close that room off and go with the 40. 40g of lime water would last me quite a while. But I would only use it if I went away for a week like in April Im going away. Ill use the 40 so my tank sittwer doesnt have to mess with it. The 5 is safe and works great so Ill always use it as my main.

Thought Id add an up to date photo. 6 1/2 months old.
Been messing with my camera again and
trying to take a nice photo isnt easy.
At least its not easy on my cheesey camera.
Only a 2 meg and has almost no settings on it
but I did manage to find a few settings I was
not utilizing. You still cant make out all of my
coral in the picture. Some of my nicest pieces
are still small and the camera just doesnt pick them up.

Awesome looking tank. Good mix of color. I really like the anenome.. Ohh I just noticed the clam.. Once I get to the point where my tank will sustain a clam, I am gonna rush right out and get one.. I really like them.

Jeremy

Thanks Jeremy, My wife is the one that decides on the colors and where they go. Its a constant battle between her saying you need this up there and me telling her it just cant go there. Wrong flow or wrong light. Its bad enough that the tank decides where things go all by its self but add my wife in the mix and it get interesting.

Beautiful job Ryan. Nice choices of species and placement of corals. I love the rose bubble tip. I gotta get my butt over there. Must be awesome in person.

Very nice Ryan!! I don't know tho, it’s kind of crowded in there maybe it’s time for a bigger tank lol. All kidding aside what is the coral above the tang just right of purple mushrooms on the first ledge. Very cool.

Jerry, Any time Im always home. I could not have gotten luckier when I got my RBTA. He came on that rock and it was a BIG rock. Had no idea how to get it in my tank without displacing everything. Took a little bit and managed to find a nice spot right in front. That was my hope, that I could make him the center piece. It worked out perfectly. He likes the spot he is in and every effort goes towards its happiness. Flow is directed for it first and corals are placed in the best spot for them based on what the RBTA needs. I cringe at the thought of it deciding it doesnt like it there and moving. Anemone comes first and the rest get what they get as far as flow goes.

Dave, Its a pink Stylophora sp. (I believe)
Im not the best when it comes to ID'ing my coral. I have no idea what the one in the upper right is. Monti of some kind. I call it elk horn monti but only because i think it looks like an elks horn.
And yea. It was to small as soon as I set it up. Not all of those corals can stay. Some will have to vacate when they get bigger. I hope they all get to big for the tank :)
