Hi All,
Lot of time I has red this forum.
I think it's time to show my tank, which I have for 2 years.
Till now it was some experiments with light, skimers and chemistry in water.
Now I think, I know what should I do with them to create correct environment for my corals.

After reduction of 2/3 LR there was big reorganization in my tank.
On bottom there is some rocks which will be removed, for maing place for big LPS.
It is 120 cm x 70 cm and 60 cm high Saphire glass 15mm thick. Light is 2x 150W HQI gieseman Megachrome coral and 2x2x54WT5 lamp 2x15000k and 2 actynic.
In 80 liters sump i has AB2000/1 return pump, and self made skimmer with tunze hydrofoamer pump. I am using h2o NP reducing pellets in reactor with AB2000 pump. For kH and CA i am using selfmade Ca reactor with corals skeletons inside. CO2 is controlled with pH computer.

now is looking like this:

I would love to see under the hood.

Your skimmer and all the other glory that makes it purr... LOL

Any dosing of chemicals?

Skimmer and other stuff

Skimmer and other stuff

there is picture of my Skimmer and 10 inch medium filter with tube with Rowa Phos inside, 400 ml.
In top I have 0.6 ppm PO4 in my tank. therefore i use this absorber.

There is picture with my Ca kH reactor:

and Biopellets reactor:

and return pump:

Sump is made from 2 standard glas tanks 1 in second. smaller is used as skimmer const. level chamber, and space in biger tank araound smaller is return pump chamber. Cheap and good enought for me.

I do not use DI water, only RO, but filtered in two phases.
first RO filter made with 2 membrans making water with TDS 029 from over TDS 400. This water is collected in 12 gal preasure diaphragm container. This water i am using in my house for dishwasher and consumption. But also for second RO which has own pressure up RO pomp. After this water has TDS 005, an without DI goes to tank .

sorry for my English but it is not my first language :)

My lps seems to be hungry:

In my hospital i have Scolymia which lost 1/3 soft skin.

Very nice... Good job so far. It looks like it will recover , not knowing what it looked like before and after the loss of flesh.

NO3 and PO4 tests day

NO3 and PO4 tests day

Hi, today, before water change i has done PO4 and NO3 measurements.
And PO4 decrease to 0.11 from 0.14 ppm in last week. NO3 is between 10 and 25 ppm. As I see my big LR reduction from 70 kg to 20 kg has changed situation in my chemistry. When it was full of LR i has problems with 0 NO3 and high PO4 levels, in peek 0.6 ppm.
Now NP biopelets reduction can be effective, i think. Before was not because of lack NO3 nutrient.

I have still problems with cyano on my glass, rock and sand-front glass area.
Maybe some suggestions? Before LR reduction problem with cyano was rather bigger than today, but it still exist.
I was used chemiclean few times and it back after few weeks.

FLOW... and looks like some cotton candy.

Syphon it out and change the flow in this area. Do NOT blow the sand, but make more over the edge/near it.

no, it is a pity, but it is bacteria film. Chemiclean remove it after 2 doses. But it comes back.
Cotton Candy i has in box where my fish have no access. In other places they eat everythink to "white rock" Today i will syphon every accesible parts of this film.

And problem increasing, I have violet bacteria film on almost every rocks in tank. Vortech pumps ar running on high speed. Skimmer is runing between wet and dry foam. ORP Redox is about 360mV. What can I do more then Chemiclean treatment?

From what i've read and have been told on this sight many times, the first thing is they are getting some type of nutrients with the water, i believe its from your nitrate levels, if i read correctly they are between 10-25ppm, i'm not sure if you have tested for phosphate yet but it's also something you should look into. The what you can do along with lowering your nutrient levels is if you trust your coral to have lights out for a day or two, i'm not familiar if they can handle it or not as i have no hard coral at the moment, but this will starve the cyno and our skimmer should pick up the dead stuff that goes into the water column.

Yes, my PO4 level is rather high last time was 0.21 ppm, near 2 weeks ago was 0.11 but 2 months ago was 0.60 ppm.
Now 1 of 2 HQI balast brake i have little less light and cyano was reduced. Also I have 1 day without any light, Tank was under black cover, and cyano is not as big as before.
Now I am waiting for new Leds Lamp 2x160W with CREE LEDS.
Then i will setup light from begining. We will see what will be.

I have great info about cyano. i have started dosing VSV + NH4NO3 what removed my cyano big problem. now my tank is totaly clean. under blue led in sump start grow green long hair glones.
