My 180 gallon tank stand build.

I like the look of just painted 2x wood.. always thought gotta skin the stand blah blah blah.. blow a ton of money on finish grade plywood.. screw it. thanks for the inspiration =)

Thank you! I'm pretty happy how it turned.

I dont really like the look of doors on the front so I made 1 big panel on the front and 2 panels on the side. All 3 panels come off to allow full access. They are held on by some magnets.

What's the plan for that light switch? I hope it's not one that gets used regularly. :worried:

As for the stand itself, I like it. I just picked up a 180 with a cheapo homebuilt stand the other day. Now I'm thinking I'll probably just chuck it and build one more like yours. I really like the removable panels.

Haha...yeah I keep getting asked about that switch. Good thing its one of those useless switches that never get used.

Congrats on the new tank! The cheapo stands was one thing I didn't want to take a chance on with this much weight and new ones are pretty expensive for what you get. I only spent a few hundred bucks and got what I wanted. And it was a good project for me too!
