My 180 Setup From Start to.....

Well I filled it up yesterday and fired up all the pumps.
and the Iwaki is just to loud for my wife , its up for sale.
and now I have some plumbing to redo. I will replace it with a dart.
I am having problems with Air bubbles. I need to lenghten my stand pipes. and I
will add some foam. hopefully that will fix it. everything else is working great.

I was hopeing to move the tank in the house this weekend and get is filled with salt water, but that will have to wait.

Well when i upgrade the pump i will make the intake to the pump and bulkhead bigger. I think the ball valve in the intake section of my current setup is causing the air bubbles. I have also started polishing the exterier of the fish tank.

did you find a quiet pump for your return....I'm setting up a 180g as well and am looking for a return pump...I'm using a DART for the closed loop

I think i am going to use a dart for my return, i have been asking around and i think it will give me the flow and sound i am looking for.

I actually decided to try to sell the tank. because a friend of mine has found a great deal on a 210 gallon tank and if i sell this tank my wife said i could get it. it would cost more money but my wife wants a stand that matches her furniture.

I am asking $1500 for the tank, stand ,hood, sump,PS,Pumps, plumbing, PC ballasts, and acrylic scratch fix kit. i am currently finishing polihing the front of the tank.

check out the add in the sale forum.

Sea Horse Refugium/sump design

Sea Horse Refugium/sump design

If I sell the 180 gallon setup this is the sump i am going to have built. It is designed to house sea horses. it has 2 refugiums.
one that hold cleatto, and a bigger one to put the sea horses and other stuff that doesn't get in the way of seeing the horses.
it has plenty of space for protein skimmer and calcium reactor.

well i am still in the process of polishing the front of the tank
it a long process and the weather here has been to hot to spend much time on it.

Well someone is coming to look at the tank tomorrow.
so it maybe sold. I hope it is because I really want the 210 gallon tank.
then i can start a whole new tread. ;)

Well i know its been a while. well i finished polishing the tank and it looks great.
I think i may keep it after all.

i will add pics later.

I also Cleaned the Used Precision Marine Calcium reactor i got on craigs list with CO2 for $200. and I also made some modificaitons
to my sump design. We are goin to paint the tank a Kaki color and put Bambo Matt in center of the cabinet doors and put the babo matt on the front of the hood. My wife hasn't totally said she is ok with keeping it till she sees how the colors look. I may still may have to sell it. If we keep it i will get the sump built and
sell the 55 Gallon tank i was using for a sump. and I will replumb the tank. I will also sell the Iwaki pump and replace it with a Dart.
I may sell the Protien Skimmer and upgrade also.

hello. noob here who just bought a used arcrylic tank im sure i could find it somewhere on here but im not to good with this site yet. if you dont mind me asking how do you buff the smaller scratches out and what did you use etc?...

also you are gonna have one sweet set up good luck!

i used the pentair scratch removal kit and some acrylic polish compound.

the kit uses wet sand paper. which is nice because it safe to use once you have fish in the tank.

ok I am starting the pre work to setup my 210 aga tank.
the 180 is still for sale. i will be starting a new tread soon to cover the build of my 210 tank.
