My 180g project

Iââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢ve made reference to it a few times now, my 180g project is underway. I will be picking the tank up on April 15 in Indy, duel overflow 72x24x24

I placed a large order today with the help of a local and saved %25 on everything.

My plans so far are to go closed loop, Iââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢m done with power heads.

I ordered most of the stuff I need for this project today.

Tunze wave maker
Sequence dart for closed loop, 3600gph
Mag 12 for the return
Ph monitor and with low and high alarm
Temp monitor with low and high alarm
A new algae magnet for the 180, it was one of the wood ones for $70

I also got a few other small things that Iââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢ll need for it.

Iââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢m going to order a ASM G4X on Monday, a lot more money than I wanted to spend ($437 shipped) but it will be worth it in the end. This is a very big skimmer and will do a excellent job on a system my size.

Iââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢m going with a sump around the 50g range. 36x18x16 or so.

And I will have a local build me a custom stand and canopy.

It will be a few months before this is up and running, looking for a house to buy first, I'm not gong to move a full 180g tank.

Iââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢ll keep everyone updated as this comes along; I know I might need some ideas for the manifold on the closed loop setup.

You must have gotten a raise ;) I can't wait to see this project take shape. Are you going to keep the 75 going or are you going to take it down?

the 75g will be sold when I move everything over to the 180g. No raise just some wheeling and dealing.

Right now the closed loop system is going to be a intresting task.

Like I said bro, the best way to do it is to just drill the back wall.. Put two good size holes in there for the inlet to the Dart. The only other real option is to do OTB intakes which wont look especially great. I dont think your overflows could even come close to handling ~4500gph between them to account for the dart and the mag 12. Those are your only two options. Other than that, using an oceans motions unit would be pretty cool. I also saw a pretty bad *** new unit called WavySea... you can get it at http://www.wavysea.com/ . It aint especially cheap, but its pretty damn cool :P

I think I'm going to run the intake over the top. I'll just just balck PVC and put it on the same side as the wave box.

I don't think there is much point in verying the flow comming in from the dart as I will be running the wave box.

Got some cool stuff today,

The dart is huge, I didn't think it was going to be that big. I was going to hook up the wave box, but it won't work on a tank with a canopy so I'm goign to have to buy the magnets,
