My 1st nem. BTA.

I've been kicking around the idea of getting a nem for awhile. This week on LA I saw that they had a green BTA with orange tips. I liked it and planned on buying it when I got home to a real computer. Of course by the time I did it was gone :hmm4:

So yesterday I go down to the LFS to see if they had anything I just had to have and what do I see? A green BTA with orange tips :celeb2:

I got it home and acclimated. Then I placed it where I wanted it to go. Of course it didn't agree with the spot I chose! Luckily it only moved about 3 inches and I think that was mostly to hide its foot in a rock crevice.

The nem is about 3.5 inches across when open with a deep green color and flourescent orange tips. It is in an LPS dominated IM 16 tank with 2 ocellaris clowns.

Looks Great! Just picked up my first nem about a week ago as well. If I knew how to put a picture on here I would show.... Any help with that....

I like the red. Looks good.

I fed mine a tiny bit of food once he stopped moving to let him know it was a good spot. Anyone have a suggestion on how often to feed?

congratulations, make sure to cover any heaters and filter or pump intakes with foam.

+1

As for feeding I have read to feed anywhere from every 4 days to almost never. A couple other suggestions were to wait for it to "poop" and then it was safe to feed again. Aside from that I have also read that if it isn't hungry it wont accept the food. I have been doing no less than every 4 days or so... Seems to be doing well!

I just got my first one as well. It has red tips with a a green base and around the mouth is a cool blue color. So far I've been watching mine for an hour and he's almost to the complete other side of the tank. I must have guessed his preferences wrong. Mine is just a baby and measures about an inch and a half across
