Hey all!
I'm currently preparing to upgrade my 120g tall to a 250 gal tank. The tank is on order at my LFS (he is waiting on more glass to come in to finish building it for me)

It will be a 72 x 36 x 24, drilled with a weir. I finished the stand over the weekend so now up to moving the current setup to put the new one in its place.

The first two doors (that open away from each other) will house the sump, the third door (with the hole at the back) will house the chiller, ATO and controllers.

It will be a few weeks till the tank is delivered but in the mean time I'll be getting all the other bits, plumbing and controllers mounted ready for it.

Yes, canopy is still to come. Haven't decided on the design on it yet. My current tank is hard to work on as its canopy doesn't give the best access so this time I want to make sure the top opens enough to get in properly. Also still undecided if I am going to go for a sloping design or a more box like type. Will need to do another trip to Bunning and get more timber yet too.

nice stand! I built one as well and finished in a dark cherry. i recently upgraded from 120 to ~255. it is a nice change.

The opening on the door is wide enough to fit the sump through. Its a 4 ft standard tank for the sump. Took a bit to calculate how I was going to work that during design phase :)

So after a bit of time the new tank is up and running. The sand is new sand (80kgs) with a few cups of old sand to seed it, the live rock is already established from existing tanks.

Sump setup comprises of 2 x 2ft x 15" x 18" tanks. The drains are 40mm PVC pipe. The skimmer is a AquaOne G224. I haven't move across the auto top off yet, that's a job for this weekend. :)
For the time being I'm running the existing Photon 48 light until I get some spare money to upgrade the lighting. Its been strapped to the braces using the hanging kit so it can't get knocked in the tank.

I'm running 2 x Jebao RW15 powerheads (turned all the way down to minimum, could have gone for smaller ones), the dosing pump is a Jebao DP-4 and the auto top off (to be moved across) is the Tunze Osmolator. Chiller is a Hailea HC-300A.
