I am planning a new tank 72x48x24 I am down to what color Silicone black or clear what are the pros and cons? can you post some pictures that would be great.

Black seem to be the new thing. It looks sharp. Just make sure whoever the builder is does a good silicone job (not sloppy). The last thing I would want is a black silicone tank from glass cages....

Clear turns yellowish after time. Id go black any day of the week, like tangers said, it looks sharper.

Tangers, glasscages has poor silicone jobs? Ive never seen their tanks, but they didnt seem too poorly priced. So I always had them on my short list of when I upgraded tanks.

thanks you talked me into it I am going with black I have clear now so I guess if I am going to change tanks I should change everything.

their silicone jobs are real sloppy. I personally don't have one of their tanks, have seen many of them though. I have however never seen one of them that has cracked, just heard about them. I just can't bring myself to get one- their record is just not good enough to put that much time, money, and not to mention lives on the line.

Clear would allow more light to penetrate. For whatever it's worth!
