I figured i would share some pics of how far i have gotten on my 40 breeder. I am waiting on some plumbing parts from savko so im pretty much at a stopping point. I dont want to start priming the rest of the stand just yet till i have everything plumbed.

Feel free to comment and please leave suggestions.
Would the 5g fuge be enough for the 40B or should i make a bigger fuge. There will be a 29gal tank i will use as a sump and i was planning to just have the fuge overflowing like it is now into the sump.

are you trying to mess with us?? few questions... why are there holes drilled all over the closed loop return line and what is the black pipe the runs through the tank doing nothing for???

idk what the holes are for, but i'm sure them and the black pipe are for something. maybe a bit of a description will help. But my guess is that the arent "doing nothing" as you put it.

My only worries would be the stand...it may be sturdy yes, but you want the weight to rest on the supports...so if thats the stand you're using, when everything's in the tank all that weight (400 lbs easily) will be pushing directly downward w/nothing under it to support it...idk..just doesnt look too good to me

Hah. I wish I could have gotten all the plumbing done but my initial order from savko was delivered incorrectly and I have to wait for the rest of my supplies to arrive.

Here is a rough idea of what I will be doing:

40B display
29 or 20H sump
5g (is that big enough?) fuge overflowing into sump
Quiet One 2200 return.
Quiet One 4000 for the CLS.
CSS65 (it’ll will be on the tank once I transfer everything from my 20H, but I may purchase a bigger skimmer if I can find a good deal on one)
AC jr (also transferred from my 20H)

I would like to plumb a water change outlet into the CLS plumbing but I am not sure where. I will be putting a T into the system. Should I put the T on the drain side (from tank) or on the pressure side of the CLS?

you say you got supports around the "perimeter" tho...yes thats how it normallly is...but the weight of the tank is actually pushed down on the side wall glasses, not the bottom glass. So in order to support the tank, you generally want the stand to have the support right under the the perimeter of the tank...you've just got the support around the perimeter of the stand, and nothing under the perimeter of the tank. I'm not saying that it wont work, because i know lots of people prolly do it...but imo, it might be risking it.

lol, yea, i am used to having any tool i needed back home. When i was building my car it was an excuse for my dad to add to his tool collection. But being in college now (sophomore) i have to start building my own collection since i couldnt bring my parents tools. I had to spend about $300 in tools just to build the stand.
