My 55g reef :)

Just recently did a much needed upgrade from a 29g tank.

The background-
Still using my t5 from my 29g on my new tank plan on adding a couple par38s onto this new set up. Running a prizim hob skimmer(plans to upgrade soon). Also running a canister filter. 2 korrila powerheads one 850g and one 250g.

Stock list fish-
6 line wrasse
Gold stripe maroon clown
Sailfin bleeny

Stock list corals-
Sps-
Red montipora
Birdsnest
Montipora digita green/ red

Lps-
Candy cane
Green plate
A couple acan frags
Green favia

Softies-
Alot of random zoas
Kenya tree
Ora green toadstool
Bunch ricodas
Green hairy mushroom

Anyways alot more to list but A picture says 1000 words enjoy :)

well done sir! love the scape really nice for a 55. will look really nice when you get some even smooth lighting worked out. keep us posted...
 
Looks good, in my opinion, you should have gone 75g or 90g, you will eventually, 55's are hard to clean, they leave you almost no room to work with.
 
Yeah I was looking to go bigger but I came across this 55g tank for free so i dunno about you guys bu I don't usually turn down free :)

Yeah scaping a 55 is a pain because they are narrow. I had one a while back and did not like it to much because of that, a 75 is much better IMO. Looks like a good start. I recommend the Reef Octopus line of HOB skimmers. I however recommend adding a sump and getting rid of the canister filter.
