Hey guys, just wanted to share some of my tank pictures before it gets rock and sand. I finally set up my oceans motions super squirt (from the group buy) and my chiller (also from the group buy). I'd love to hear any opinions. I'm going to try sps with this tank. I'll send some pictures of my lights later. Hopefully my img tags work.

Cool, I too bought my chiller and OM SS from the two group buys. I probably won't have anything setup for a while.

How are you going to house your lighting?

How is your sump being fed?

You're gonna have a little problem there bud. I don't see an overflow on your system other than that hole you have drilled halfway down the tank.

Your water level is gonna sit at the level of that hole the way you have it set up. Buy an acrylic overflow box and install it in front of that hole and you should be ok.

If you look a little closer you can see that the drain in the middle of the aquarium is feeding the closed loop setup ... you can see the drain in the 3rd pic in the top right hand corner ... that's a pretty nice setup are you going to paint the back of the aquarium so you cant see the pvc? also its going to have a nice big space between the tank and the wall you could minimize that by setting up the sea squirt under the sand?

energy_crisis - I set up the group buy for the OM in like februrary. It took me forever to get things put together. I am actually going with a canopy. I have two-250 reef optix III pendents that I'm going to put under there. I'm planning on putting in phoenix 14ks.

PHATBEN - I'm not going to paint the back of the tank. I think I'll have to suffer for a year or so until the coraline algae builds up. I'm just going to let that take over the back of the tank. I'm going to be using a calcium reactor and a kalk reactor so coraline will be nice and happy to grow. haha. I thought about putting the super squirt down below the tank, but I think I would have gained a lot of pressure on the pump. I dont have a scientific findings behind it, but I thought that it would be better up there, plus I could have easy access to it while standing up and not on my back trying to service it.

Looks really good. Heres my 02.
1. Pleeeeeease paint the back of the tank black. (in my best begging voice) It would make the tank look 100 times better. =)
2. I love how you have the return chiller water on a spraybar to disburse the chilled water evenly. I think you should drill a couple more holes to let the water flow better.
3. The last/biggest thing I would change is make the chiller line your return, and make the Oceans Motions your closed loop. You could do way more flow that way.
