My $700 "mistake"

So I just got a new house and while moving my tank in we caught the edge on a door frame and broke it. My wife was standing right there and replied with, "Oh S*it you broke it, lets go get a new tank. You wanted a bigger one anyway right?" So, a very late night (guy at the LFS stayed two hours past close time helping me with plumbing and didn't charge me anything) and $700 later I have a new TruVu 125g acrylic tank that is 48"x24"x24". It feels really empty though, so my wife and I went and picked our first tang. A really nice looking sailfin that is about 4 inches or so. Anyway, thats my story =D Pics soon as I find the box with my camera in it.

I agree with vinnie71975, that is a good wife. You need to take her out to a nice dinner and appreciate her thoughtfulness. Women like that are hard to come by.

Best mistake ever! I wish my husband was that supportive of my hobby -- I agree with everyone else, hang onto your wife; spouses that suggest upgrades are a rarity in this hobby.

Heres the pics.

Going from a 75g to a 125g didnt seem like that much to be at the start but man it feels soooooo empty.

Larah, Seahorse Aquarium Supply hooked me up with this. There customer service is great and they even stayed after hours to help me get it set up. Id highly suggest them, There in North Portland off of 21st in Columbia, just south of the Humane Society. Id also recommend Upscale Fish and Reptile in Beaverton. if you havent already, check out www.pnwmas.org Its the local reef club and they have info about all the local salt shops.

Beaupierce, Ive had sand in my other system and although I like the look and life in it Ive decided to ditch it and go bare bottom. Firstly its way more maintenance friendly. I can have as much flow as I want, anywhere I want now, and dont have to worry about the sandstorm. Plus I dont want to risk scratching my acrylic while cleaning the glass cause I got sand stuck in my scrub pad. =D Plus, if you have rad livestock no one really notices the lack of sand.

Oh so Woody hooked you up, NICE!
I will have to go over there sometime soon...
I've been going to Cayes a lot lately. It's close to work and they
are SUPER nice :)
Beaverton is a PITA, hwy 26 is always busy busy busy, LOL!

Yeah, though Isaac is the one who helps me out there. I think woody is working more on building custom stands, and Isaac is runnin the shop now days. WHat shop is Cayes? Beaverton isnt bad if you go during the right times =D

Cayes pets.. It's on 136th ish and Division in South East...
It's an old store, been there since 1967!~ WOW it's actually
older than me... LOL!

I second that opinion!!! with the support of a wife like that you'll have it filled up in no time

and yes I agree with everyone else, your wife is a saint... take her out dude...

My husband is pretty saintly too!
He's spent more of his hard earned money on rocks lately... (he was amazed that a 24 pound rock could cost that much!!)
