My 700ltr (185 gallon) tank Build

Ok time for an update.

I have added a total of 100Kg's (about 225lbs) of live rock to the tank and have 2x6100 tunze pumps.
The tank has been cycling for about 15 days so far and the smell is not tooo bad :D

I have decided to light it with 12x54watt t5 lights and a diy moon lighting system and see what I think.
I am having a hood made for the tank and have made it in a way that I can change to Mh if I desire

Here are a few photos

Full tank shot, notice the difference in lighting.
One side of the tank is lit by a quad NO t5 (one I had lying around) the other is a double HO T5, these are the units I will be using

This is a pic of the old NO T5. These I will not be using.

Ok a few thins have happened since my last post, here is the setup now:
Tank still the same 8'3" x 2' x 1.5' Sump still the same

What has changed is the lights, I have just brought 2 x Aqua Medic 4' Mh (Ocean Light 150) thanks to Ernie at REEFlections Aquarium in Moorabbin for the great deal on these lights.

I have also installed some blue Leds for my moon lighting, 60 in total and the effect is great, I can now see my corals in a different setting and it is great. Here are some pics. Please excuse the quality as I am still learning how to use my Cannon 400D.

Heres the whole tank lit up with the Mh

Heres a Ricordia that sprung out of nowhere

These two are just a couple of my other corals.

mate what a background that would be a back wall covered in morphs

Yep I know it would be, But I want them to spread through my whole tank and not just the glass. :)

I can now start adding some corals. (Couldn't before as lighting was not upto scratch)

Will start with some Acans (Acanastrea Lorowensis) (I saw some nice red ones at work the other day)
And some pocilipora
And a few more morphs.

That should do it for this week.

Just a short update to my tank.

I have put a larger sump/refugium 60" x 20" x 20", and I have put it outside inbetween my salt and RO holding Tanks. Will post some pics soon

Just a quick update (will post pics soon, as soon as it cools down)

Got my new sump/refugium up and running, still have to put my protein skimmer in yet but that will be done soon.

All is running fine, and working as it should do.

I have set it up to almost do my water changes for me. All I have to do is switch one pump/switch of (the switch actually turns of my main feed pump as well as my 4 tunze pumps in my display) and as the water drains down to my sump I hav a hole drilled in my sump just above the water line and about 150 liters goes down a drain. Then all I have to do is turn on the pumps again and refill my sump up. but this is done with 1 stop valve.

(Will post pics of this later, still got to clean up sump area)

Ok Just done some more work on my tank, changed a couple of things around.

1/ Installed an AquaMedic twin ReefDoser
2/ Installed another Tunze Pump (6055) so that makes 4 in total 2x6045 1x6055 and 1x6100

As I said in my last post Pics to follow
