Here's a few pictures of the sump and return line. Only thing that is really scaring me is my tank is at 85 degrees with no lights and no heater!?!?!?!?! What can I do without buying an expensive chiller

What's the temp in the house. If it's under 80 del then the tank is rising because of the power heads or return pump or both.

U can switch return pump to external pump if u r running internal pump. U can also use vortex power heads as the motor won't be in the water anymore. But first check the thermometer to make sure it's accurate.

Ok just saw that return pump they r great pumps but I have had them and mine ran super hot I had to take it off line because of that

I think icthyman posted about that pump being an issue in another thread. Apparently it is an external pump but still uses the water that goes through it for cooling.

We just check the room temp. It's at 80. We were thinking about installing a window unit anyways before the tank so I'm going to do that and keep the room at a constant 70-73. Hopefully that will help. Are there another external pumps that run cooler. As far as temp I have two therm. A glass one and a digital one they both read 84-85.

You would be better off listening to Some of the other guys regarding external pumps. I run an internal pump on my 180, so not real up to date on the external pumps available now.

It def has to be that tho tank is at 86 room at 78 and the pump is SUPER hot. I'm going to try and find my laser one n check pump temp.

Clip fan for your sump. Blow on the water. Add fans and vents to your canopy. Should help a couple degrees but you will evaporate more water

Yup but 85 and haven't hit summer so pu.p has to go then the fans should be plenty depending on lighting and canopy setup
