Your unknown hitchhicker is a Apstasia anenome .Kill it as soon as u can . It will sting your other corals .Make sure to kill it as a whole if any piece gets lose it will make another , and before u know it u have a tank full of them.
 
You think? Its an LPS, hard cup like base and long clear kinda polyps.Its definately not a fast grower and stays on the same rock.It doesn't look like a button polyp at all. Anyone else want to chime in.
 
It closes at night, Harry, that's where I got the idea of cup coral from is a site that sells that rock according to what I read it should have died off but in my tank it hasn't also above it is another one that has survived since I put it in six months back.
 
I have got a couple as well off some Gulf live rock thats been in different tanks for about 3 years. They are really cool and are def. not apstasia. I am thinking they are a type of cup coral and pretty sure they do not need direct/indirect feeding/non-photosynthetic.
