My 90G Reef Tank

I had put up a post of my tanks this past summer, then I moved into a new apartment in Manhattan, and figured, instead of breaking down my 45G and 29G then setting them up again...I would sell them off (excl. Livestock) and combine both of my systems.

I found a 90G tank with stand (electrical outlets all built into the stand...how convenient), canopy and 40G sump all for $350. Of course I had to redo the plumbing, changed the bulkheads etc. etc.

Here are the tanks specifics:

40G Sump/fuge

Lighting: 2x 175W MH Light - Spider reflectors
12K Coral Vue Reeflux Bulbs
2x VHO Actinic Supplement

Skimmer: Aqua-C EV 240 with Mag 12

Return Pump: Mag 9.5

Water Movement: 1x Koralia 4
1x Koralia 3
2x Seio 820

Dosing: ESV B-Ionic 2 Part dosing
Purple-up (I know it's nothing but a calcium additive...but I was curious to see what the effects would be.)
Kalkwasser Mix


Thinking of adding a Phosban Reactor and a calcium reactor, what are the benefits from adding them?
Anyone here dose vodka? Can you please tell me the pro's and con's for this?

Anyone ever try a Pyramid Butterflyfish? I have heard and seen they are a model reef citizen, will not touch any corals what-so-ever.

Thank you very much! I am trying to fix the minor mistakes I made with my other set ups...equipment wise etc.etc. So far everything seems to be working as it should...phhhheeewwwwww...

I am going to slowly build my SPS collection here, since I upgraded, i did keep all of my rock submerged in water with a powerhead, and kept alot of my tanks water and most of the live sand. It has been running for about a month now...no spikes in the water, what-so-ever (knock on wood)

Well after some careful considerations with my tank, I am thinking of redoing the fish I have...what does everyone think of this list.

Hi all,

Haven't been around these parts recently ... I want to update my thread

I upgraded my tank lights to 2x 250W MH + 2x 110W VHO Super Actinics ... got a great deal on the fixture ... For flow I removed all of my powerheads except one Koralia 4 ... and replaced it with a Vortech Mp-40W ... best purchase EVER!!!

I have had tremendous growth to my SPS in recent times with the upgrade of my flow and very stable parameters.
