My Alk is 8.0 is this ok?

I've had my Alk at 8.5 and it's consistently been at 8.0 for a couple weeks. Should I bump it back to 8.5 ?
I have a mixed reef.

The recommended alk range is 7-11 dKH
Consistency/stability is more important than any specific number in that range..
It seems that as you go higher in the range you need higher nutrient levels to keep corals happy..

8-8.5 is totally fine.. Neither number is better than the other..

+1... If your tank seems to run at 8.0, I'd keep it there. Careful you aren't just seeing a snapshot of a falling trend. I would check it at least weekly until I knew the Alk was stable.

I like to keep mine at about 7.8. I run very low nutrients. Currently NO3 and PO4 both 0.

I feed heavy and run an ATS and dose carbon for nutrient control. I am slowly reducing my carbon dosing till a start again seeing some nitrates.
