my anemone is losing its color

My anemone has a purple base and now its turning see through or white... the purple is fading big time...

What kind of anemone is it?

When did you get it?

Have you noticed it expelling any darkish brown substance?

Its a BTA... Only the base is fading and I've had it for almost a month... It has never been hand fed either.... It expells waste now and then but it's more like brown with a clear mucus around it...

If your not feeding it and it's expelling a brown substance, then it is most likely bleaching (expelling it's zooanthellae, photosynthetic algae).

What type of lighting was it under when you bought it and what type of lighting do you have? Did you recently change the bulbs?

How long has your tank been setup?
