What lights do you have?
How long has the tank been set up?

That "carpet" anemone is very very bleached, and has a long road ahead of it.

How long is this tank? (( worried about the 2 tangs )).

For the new rock that is coming, where is it coming from? Worried about a mini cycle starting when you add it.

I pmed you about the specs of the lights. the carpet was bought that color, i feed it daily microverts and mysis shrimp. twice a week it gets fresh shrimp diced up. it has a hefty apetite and is slowly getting cool neon green to it. it has doubled in size easily since i bought it. none of my other nems are missing color. all of my nems are from petco as i do not have a local shop aside from petco

Got your PM, and will reply to it later tonight when I have the amount of time to give it a proper answer.

Thanks for the search!! One of the stores i absolutely refuse to shop as as they charge beyond reasonable prices, but i'll check out a few this weekend. my carpet has started gaining some color back its an awesome neon green, i've uped its vitamins and plankton mix, as well as its shrimp. i've also ordered a spotlight led lamp for the nems

It's good that you're target feeding the bleached anemone. Hopefully that neon green will soon darken into a healthy, deep brown indicative of a tissue fully colonized with zooxanthellae. Does your condy wander? Having a carpet, or any other anemone (other than another condy) seems like a recipe for problems.

actually no no wandering everyone has nestled into their own place...they all get spot fed and no one comes in contact with the other. if i had any problems i would offer the condys up for a donation at a lfs but its been a few months and everyone is fine together..

BTW Mikey the reason i joined was for the info the more experienced folks have to offer!
thanks again!

I'm shocked that no one here has said to the OP that mixing different species of anemones is strongly ill advised. BairdimusPrime, it would be wise to do some trimming with your livestock and stick with one species of anemone in your tank. From what I gathered in your first post, you have three different types of anemones in your tank? I understand you're new to this board (as am I) and to the hobby (I am not) but I am going to give you some great advice and strongly advise you to return two of those anemones. If you decide not to, run a lot of carbon and do frequent water changes. Even then, mixing anemones often ends in a gloom ending. Good luck.

TD is right, nems might start a chemical warfare, but i didnt want to be a debbie downer of the tang police.

i bought a bleacked carpet from my lfs which i wanted the chance to bring it back to healthy. as long at it remains sticky you should be ok with it. the most important thing for them is light. i have my bleached carpet under MH and it has its green back and started to get darker green and brown in some spots so i know i am doing a good job. the one thing i am good at taking care of is nems. i had rbta in my 24g hqi nano get to 12" before it split 3x. removed the bta for a purple lta. which is huge too.

a word on feeding the nems if i cant put my $0.02 in. dont spend alot of time spot feeding them, they really dont need it. i never do feed mine anything more than frozen mysys and cyclops that they catch from feeding my fish. i have read way to many horror stories involved silversides killing nem in hours and then spoiling the whole tank.
what i do sometimes is when i am thawing the mysis and cyclops in a cup i will take a turkey baster and shoot somemysis into the nems sticky arms and not the mouth for them to fold up and eat. i might do this once a week.
good luck with bringing the color back to the carpet. when it gets bigger, expect a few fish to dissapear maybe from it catching them. i have seen them eat smaller clowns that are not their normal co habitators to tangs, blennies and wrasses. hehe

Tripple Hornet, you're not being a downer! I need anyone who offers advice to be as honest as possible, how else does one move forward without it?
I have since removed the condy's I donated them to my brother in laws office tank. 55 Gallons a few damsels and a large brown ocellaris. they're holding up fine.

the carpet is gaining color daily and the sickly beaded nem is taking food and looking better.
Both are exremely sticky and very reactive to any kind of touch. I just wish i knew what type of carpet it is.

TO EVERYONE WHOS OFFERED THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP!!

OK, so I removed the condys, and i decided to update some pix of the nems, the carpet is getting color back daily and has a neon green hue to it and the other one which i cant seem to identify has claimed its own spot in the tank on its own... here are some new pix both are EXTREMELY sticky and eat very well!!

I know you PM'ed Todd about your lights, but can you post it up here?

The color is looking slightly better (I know color can be tough to capture in a picture)

Is it right at the water surface? Gig experts, thoughts on this?
